I had so much fun doing my 2×12 Project last year that I’m continuing on with it in 2012! This month’s photo is definitely quite different than last year’s January photo, but for good reason. :-)
This past month has been a time of re-organization and re-grouping. A time where when it comes to my business, I looked at what worked last year, what didn’t, and set my new goals for this year. Yes, I’ve been on a bit of a break from shooting (which is nice to have), but have still been working just as hard on continuing to build my business and serve my clients the best I can! The nice thing about having this “off-peak” season in the midwest is it gives me the opportunity to recharge my batteries and make sure I’m staying on track with my personal goals as well as professional goals. I spent a good bit of time in January learning how to better my business, created new and improved workflows, and watched God open doors that I didn’t think were possible!
I also spent time planning for my trip to WPPI in Vegas next month (a huge photography conference) and preparing for the things that I am involved in there. James and I got to hang out with different “groups” of friends throughout the month and even had a special visit from one of my best friends since Kindergarten and her husband who live out of state! After having a lighter Fall semester, James picked back up in his grad schooling with a full course load and is having a lot more fun reading for his classes now that he has a Kindle. :-) The weather has been extremely un-January-ish, with next to no snow and constant changes in temperature. To give you an example, the high for today is 58 degrees! The past several days have been absolutely freeeeeezing though.
Our picture for the month simply shows how we like to hang out in our free evenings and relax! We each have our favorite spot on the couch and love to catch up on our DVR’d shows and such (anyone else have to have a lap blanket when they relax, no matter what the temperature is??). When it’s warm out we spend most of our evenings outdoors, but in the Winter we pretty much become homebodies and I am totally ok with that. :-)
