3×12 Project: May 2014

I procrastinated on writing this post quite a bit because as we got to the end of May I realized we had not taken a photo of the three of us with a nice camera. I was so bummed! I went back through all of my photos from the month and the only one I could find with all of us in it was grainy cell phone photo we took while relaxing on the couch one afternoon. But in reality, that is how life is a lot of the time. Days pass by so quickly that we forget to slow down and make time for the things that are important to us. This was a good reminder!

May is always a fun month for me since it is the month of my birth. :-) Now, I wasn’t especially excited to get one year closer to 30 (I am still in denial that the big 3-0 is coming next time around), but I did enjoy celebrating with my little family and getting to do some things that I wanted to do (like going shopping by myself) and finally using a spa gift certificate that James had gotten for me last year!

We also finally got things going with our new small group at church, and have been enjoying getting to know some new friends. We spent a good bit of time hanging out with friends and neighbors, and really started to get some good use out of our community pool (May is pretty much the start of summer here in Savannah). Another cool thing I did was take a self-defense class! That was a lot of fun and trust me when I say that I am quite dangerous now.

All in all, it was a great month! What I will remember from this month’s picture is: 1) My child is way too cute for words. 2) Never let James go into the bathroom with a razor after I’ve gone to bed or he will shave his head.
