September was a fun month, largely because we got to spend a week visiting James’ family in northern Michigan. After having such hot weather here in Savannah for so long, it was really nice to enjoy some cooler temps and I even got to wear my boots while we were there! We had a great time hanging out with James’ parents, grandparents, and some of his extended family. Jack was able to really enjoy himself there this year and had a blast exploring outside around the lake cabin. He also enjoyed getting spoiled by the grandparents.
Considering what circumstances could have been, Jack did a GREAT job with the travel there and back. This was his sixth round trip flying, and we were so proud of how well he did on the plane, in the airport, sleeping away from home, etc. I was nervous before this trip with him being such a busy boy, but everything went so well and I even got to enjoy him sleeping in my arms on the plane! I plan to write a post (someday) about air travel with a baby/toddler, but for now, feel free to send me any questions about it.
Some other fun things for the month included: joining the local MOPS group and attending the first meeting, joining a weekly Bible study at church, shooting a beautiful wedding in downtown Savannah, and actually getting to GO to a wedding as a guest for once! We of course had lots of playdates, walks around the neighborhood, shopping at Goodwill, and events with church too.
This month’s photo is on the dock at my in-laws cabin in Kalkaska, MI. You can’t see it in this photo, but that boat says “Jenna D” on the side. There is a big conspiracy in James’ family as to who the boat actually belongs to, but I’m thinking if your name is one the side, it belongs to you, right? ;-)
P.S.- No, that’s not a can of tobacco in my pocket. Just a hair rubber band, folks.
