4×12 Project: October 2015

It is hard to believe that we are officially in the “Fall” season already, as we are still having so many hot days down here in the deep South! I love this time of year for the pumpkin candles, delicious pies, and tall boots, but we need to get a little cooler weather to go along with it. :-)

We started off the month of October with a nice visit from some of James’ side of the family. His mom, sister, and our niece and nephew came in town for a few days. We had a great time hanging out with them and doing a bunch of Fall activities, even though it was still pretty warm. We went to a pumpkin patch, painted/carved pumpkins, and baked cookies and pies. It was fun!

Later in the month we went to our church’s annual Country Carnival (where this month’s photo is from) and I took Jack Trick-or-Treating in our neighborhood (James had church that night). It was so fun to watch Jack really get into it this year and have a blast! I also started going out and about with both boys on my own more this month, went on my first “Girls Night” since Josh was born, and we got back into the swing of things with our small group (we had taken some time off when Josh was born and then in the hospital for sickness).

Josh is sleeping great at night (regularly 8-10 hours with the occasional 11 hours), but I am overall still very tired each day. I know it just comes with the territory of being a mom of a newborn and a two year old, especially when breastfeeding, but I am looking forward to feeling more rested in hopefully the near future. :-) To help combat the excessive tiredness I try to get to bed around 9:30pm each night (I know, I’m an old lady) and I’ve been taking a nap almost every afternoon that I can!
