Smelling the Roses

Do you ever feel like life is passing by so quickly that you forget to stop and smell the roses (I love using corny old sayings)? Sometimes I find that I get so caught up in a moment that I forget to take in what’s around me…

Take for instance, at Reannon and Steve’s wedding. If you saw their wedding recently on my blog, then you know that it was at the zoo and that they had an elephant greeting their guests. Super cool, right? WELL GUESS WHO TOTALLY FORGOT TO PET THE ELEPHANT!!! Me. Yes, I realized a week later that I had been so caught up in getting pictures of the elephant and pictures of people in front of the elephant that I forgot to actually reach out and touch the elephant that I was standing 2 inches from! Uhhhhh. Totally kicking myself on that one…

James, however, is awesome and taking in what’s around him. He, of course, petted the elephant, and he also stopped to notice the beauty that we were standing right next to as we shot Amy and Aaron’s outdoor wedding. I’m thankful that he did because otherwise I wouldn’t have these pretty pictures to look at…

As you go throughout your week, don’t forget to stop and smell the roses. :-)
