It’s been a while since the last edition of Favorite Things, and I figured with it being a new year, what better time to start again! Here are some of my fav things this month…

1) FINALLY hanging up photos

You would think with being a photographer and all I would immediately hang images up when I get them, but no; they will literally sit on the floor, leaning up against the wall for a couple of months while I decide where I want to hang everything because I’M THE MOST INDECISIVE PERSON EVER. Then all of a sudden, I know where I want them hung and I simply call out to my handsome man-slave, James (a.k.a. the husband), and just like that they’re hung in a matter of minutes!

2) Spring weather in December

The midwest is notorious for having drastic changes in weather, but it seems all over the U.S. there have been some weird weather changes going on recently! And you know what– the cats and I are totally ok with it being 54 degrees in January. :-)

3) Finally getting my copy of J*’s Exposed magazine

Is it bad that two of my favorite things so far start off with the word “finally?” This “finally” is in reference to the fact that I ordered the mag on the first day it came out and got so excited in the ordering process that I forgot to change the mailing address that Paypal had listed for me! I didn’t realize until several weeks later when I started wondering where it was… Luckily, Jasmine’s hubby, JD, was super helpful and helped me get my copy once I realized my mistake. Haven’t gotten a chance to read through it all yet, so I’m saving it for my next trip to read while I travel!

4) Couponing

I hesitate to even share this because I don’t want you to think I’m one of those crazy ladies from Extreme Couponing, but I love me some good deals and good deals love me! I used to coupon a lot, but when the busy season hit this year I had to step back from it because I just didn’t have time. I’ve recently starting collecting my coupons and reading my coupon blogs again and my competitive nature to get the best deals has already started kicking in! When I go into the store I feel like I’m on the Amazing Race, competing to get the most stuff for the least amount of money. I’ll admit–it’s addicting!!

5) Being a Finalist in a Wedding Photography Contest

I found out yesterday that I’m a finalist in Wedding Day Magazine: Central Indiana Edition’s Wedding Photography Contest!!! I feel so honored to have just been chosen as a finalist among such an amazing group of photographers and am SO thankful for all of the support I’ve received from family and friends so far! The winner of the contest gets to shoot the magazine’s Winter 2013 cover and will be featured in a multi-page spread. Pretty cool, huh?!?
