2 x 12 Project: January 2013

2013 marks the start of the third year now that I will be doing my 2 x 12 Project! If this is your first time hearing about it, let me give you a quick summary… Each month out of the year I make sure to get a photo with James and I together, usually set up with a self-timer on the camera. The photo represents what was going on that month, where we visited, what the weather was like– anything that helps us to remember that month! I started this project after I had gone searching for a recent photo of us and couldn’t find one of just the two of us within the most recent 6 months. Kind of ridiculous. The goal of this personal project is to have a fun collection of photos by the end of the year that we can look back on and smile!

I had the photos from 2011 made in a collage canvas which you can see here. Now I need to do the same for 2012! It’s on my to-do list, along with finishing unpacking, setting up the nursery, etc. :-) I’m excited because with the baby coming in just a few short weeks, the project title will be changing to “3 x 12 Project!”

On to January… This month had some of the biggest changes happen in our lives within a short amount of time. While at times it was slightly stressful, overall it was such a great month!

  • Enjoyed a wonderful baby shower at our church in Indiana, thrown by the awesome females in our small group. :-)
  • Got a pre-natal massage– much needed!!!
  • Had lots of get-together with friends before moving South
  • Was blessed with a baby shower in Cincinnati, thrown by my two dearest and oldest (not by age, but length of friendship) friends. :-)
  • Moved to Savannah! This sounds like a one-day thing, but in reality it lasted over a period of a week, from our stuff getting packed up, to the moving truck arriving at our new home. Thankfully, there were no major problems and the cats are loving having open window weather in winter!
  • James led his first weekend of worship at our new church, and then went right into working his new job full-time!
  • I spent much of the first couple of weeks unpacking and getting our house settled after the move. It is coming along quite nicely if I do say so myself! I think under normal circumstances we may not have unpacked as quickly, but we wanted to get as much set up as possible before the baby comes.
  • We began making new friends here within our church and our neighborhood.
  • I attended my first wedding vendor event with a new photographer friend and am already seeing fruits from my business transition here!
  • Met our new baby doctor and had another ultrasound, confirming that he IS indeed a boy and is looking healthy. :-)

This month’s photo was taken in our new neighborhood, which we are absolutely loving! It’s definitely different to live so close to other people after living in the country for the past few years, but I am especially enjoying having sidewalks to go walking on (totally random, I know). I feel like I’m on vacation every time I drive in the subdivision because of the palm trees!
