First of all, I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S ALREADY ALMOST AUGUST!!! Someone tell me where the time goes!
July was a fun month. Here’s why…
- James and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary (and by “celebrate” I mean we ate dinner at home and put a baby to bed– SO not complaining though, as we love life with our little guy).
- Jack turned 4 months old! He is at such a fun age right now with so many changes on almost a daily basis and has a lot longer wake times! It’s so fun to watch him learn new things. Recently he’s been practicing some new “talking” sounds and has also learned how to squeal. LOUDLY. He is loving tummy time much more (thank goodness) and will now play with toys while on his tummy. Within the past 2 weeks he has begun to actually play in his exersaucer and jumparoo (I call it working in his “office”), and he has been strengthening up those leg muscles with LOTS of kicking. He figured out how to roll from his belly to his back last month and has been doing that more consistently. He enjoys having a few periods of “independent playtime” throughout the day and especially likes to play with a particular hanging bird on his activity mat during this time. He started “chuckling” towards the beginning of the month and has just begun to put it together into actual laughter. It’s cute. And naps. OH, the naps. They have gotten sooooo much easier. We are finally in a routine where he can fall asleep on his own and put himself back to sleep if he wakes during a nap. IT IS NICE.
- My cousin and his wife who live in Atlanta came for a weekend visit. They enjoyed getting to meet Jack and he loved having some new faces around!
- I got myself back to the chiropractor!!! I used to go and get adjusted regularly (have a lot of back pain from my scoliosis), but fell off the wagon after having Jack. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore, found a new chiropractor here, and am feeling much better!
- I FINALLY GOT MY HAIR DID. Yes, I said “did.” (Don’t forget I grew up in Cincinnati). For anyone who was getting ready to schedule a hair intervention for me, you can cancel it! After a 7 month hiatus of caring about what my hair looked like, I had had enough. I am sort of picky about my hair stylist because of several bad experiences in the past (when you get told your hair looks like a lemur, you know you’re in trouble), so I was avoiding having to find a new one since our move. I asked around, did some researching, and am very pleased with the results!
Deciding where to take this month’s 3×12 photo was easy because we spent so many evenings at the pool! Our subdivision has an awesome clubhouse and pool area that we have definitely taken advantage of. Jack seems to love the water and relaxing poolside (in the shade, of course) just like his Momma!
