Is it really the end of summer? Ok, weather wise it is definitely not (at least down here in the South), but it’s hard to believe another summer has come and gone! The positives about kids being back in school– waaaaay less crowded at the grocery store and at the airports (which I just found out this past week). :-)
Let’s see…. in August we took a family trip to Michigan to visit James’ extended family and introduce everyone to Jack, which was a lot of fun! We also had a quick visit from my Dad and Grannie (Jack’s great-grandma) here in Savannah, so that she could see Jack for the first time. Within those first two weeks of the month Jack met three sets of great grandparents (he’ll be meeting the other set in a few months)– I’d say that’s pretty cool!!
At the end of August I traveled with Jack by myself (call me crazy) all the way back to Indianapolis to shoot a wedding. He did GREAT on the trip and I was surprised how easy it ended up being for me to fly with him alone (it helped to have two practice trips beforehand with help). Remember how I mentioned the airport being less crowded? Well that equaled out to Jack and I having NO ONE sit next to us on any of our four flights! Win for the home team!
This month’s 3×12 Project photo represents something that Jack got to do for the very first time: go to the beach! I ended up taking this pic with my phone because it was a spur of the moment trip and I did not have my camera with me. Oh well. We had planned to go hang out in downtown Savannah on this particular day, but instead decided to go to Tybee Beach and let Jack experience the sand between his toes for the first time! He seemed to like it quite well and I think he may be a beach baby just like his Mama. :-)
P.S.- Right after this photo was taken the tide came in and got my phone wet. AND SOMEHOW IT STILL WORKS.
Happy end of summer!
