THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

I can’t say thank you enough to all of my friends, family, and blog followers for taking the time to vote for my photo in the Wedding Day Magazine “Best of Wedding Day- Photographer” contest over the past month or so. I am overwhelmed with gratitude at how my friends, family, and amazing clients took it upon themselves to spread the word about the contest! When I got the call yesterday that I had won I tried my hardest not to scream into the phone! Instead I jumped up and down with my necklace hitting me in my face. :-)

Honestly, I was shocked because the other photos that were finalists were AWESOME and shot by some super talented photographers (a few who I am friends with). I truly feel honored to have won and am beyond excited to work with the magazine in this amazing opportunity!

I’d also like to give a huge shout-out to Kristen and Andy for their amazingness and the fact that they chose me to shoot their wedding!! I don’t think I ever explained the contest “process” before, but I submitted 10 photos to the contest and the magazine chose their top favorite from each photographer that was a finalist. I had the hardest time narrowing down my 10 entry photos in the first place, so I asked a few friends and family members to give me their favorites out of the initial 74 that I had narrowed down to from my 2011 weddings! This particular photo of Kristen and Andy was a crowd favorite from the beginning, and I’m not surprised because these two were SO great and up for anything on their wedding day!
