I must admit, I definitely have a thing for outdoor weddings and receptions. But an outdoor wedding in the bride’s parents’ backyard– YES PLEASE! Absolutely loved this whole wedding day and had such a fun time with Julia & Cory. Julia’s wedding Pinterest board came to life and made for such an awesome time with their family and friends in the relaxed, chic setting. It was way too hard for me to narrow down my favorites from this one, so hopefully you don’t mind a few more than usual!

I should also point out that it can be quite intimidating to shoot a wedding for another photographer’s family! You see, Cory’s mom and sister are the duo behind Shuman Fine Art Photography (amazing portrait photographers). I am so honored that they entrusted me to capture the day!!

Julia’s dad was quite taken back when he saw his daughter in her wedding gown for the first time! Such a sweet moment.

One of the nice things about shooting a ceremony and reception in the same location is the extra time I have to shoot all of the details! I LOVE shooting details, but it sometimes can be hectic rushing back and forth between two locations. Julia and Cory’s set up made it super easy for me to capture all of the work they had put into the day. :-)

I could have shot with these two all day! They knew how to pop into a pose thanks to photo shoots with their band, Tell Scarlet (Julia’s Mom and Dad are in the band as well). :-)

This was not even all of the cakes that were there! It was like being in dessert heaven!

Cory’s Dad’s homemade BBQ sauce was DELISH!
