It was early in the morning and I was sure that if I went out and back really quickly no one would see me. Or at least no one I knew would see me. I mean, of all the cars that drive by our house on a daily basis, what would be the chance that on that particular morning, at that particular moment someone I knew would see me and know it’s me?
The following day I was sitting in my class at church when a friend from across the room said, “I saw you yesterday Jenna.” The sly grin on his face immediately made me nervous. Oh no. Where was I yesterday? I knew I had been to two Goodwill stores (they were having a 50% off sale!), the post office, and Walmart. Maybe he saw me across a parking lot? Or maybe he drove past me on the road. Was I doing something weird? “You were out in your yard taking pictures in your pajamas with a plastic bag over your camera.” Oh, THAT. Everyone laughed. I laughed. I was busted.
You see, it had been snowing so beautifully when I woke up this past Saturday that I wanted to run out and grab a picture of our yard. James was still asleep so I didn’t want to go back into the bedroom to put on some “real” clothes and wake him up. I thought I’d just throw on my coat and boots and pretend like I wasn’t wearing pajama pants that resembled MC Hammer’s wardrobe. Instead of going into the office to get my rain sleeve, I grabbed a plastic Walmart bag and put it over my camera so that the flurries wouldn’t get it wet. I went outside, grabbed a few shots, decided to check the mail, and then headed back in. There were only a couple of cars that passed by while I was out there and no one honked, so I deemed it a successful mission.
Will this stop me from going outside in my MC-Hammer-are-you-a-grandma-already pajama pants and throwing a plastic bag over my camera in the future? Probably not. And I’m OK with that. ;-)

hehehehe! It’s kind of like when I run an errand without doing my hair or makeup. “I’ll run in and out and no one will see me” – yeah, I usually end up seeing a client or someone from church. I’ve started wearing makeup just to drop books off at the library. :)
nice image. I go out with my dogs in my pj’s or robe all the time:)
My neighbors usually see me laying the grass trying to photograph my daughters feet (love her little toes). This image is so much better than toes :)
I LOVE MY PJ’s. They are my fave thing. I would have been outside taking pictures with a plastic bag over my camera in my PJ’s also. xoNora.
