Photo Memories

Recently I was looking through old photographs on my computer when I came across a folder with a ton of pictures from my Grandpa’s life that had been scanned into the computer a few years ago for his funeral. My dad had taken the time to individually scan hundreds of photos, and labeled each one with the names of the people in the pictures with the year taken (a very time-consuming task). I had so much fun looking through all of the images, laughing at the outfits and hair styles, but most of all just relishing in the memories of my family.

It made me realize just how important the pictures I take for the people I take them for are. They’re not only something fun to look at today, but they are a memory for future generations to look back on. I treasure all of the photos I have of my parents, grandparents, and even great-grandparents from throughout the years. Looking back through my Grandad’s photos I was reminded not only of the funny things he used to say, but also of the importance to continue carefully documenting our life through photos so that our story can be told for future generations to come.
