Remember that huge imagination you had as a kid? Maybe you liked to pretend your were a superhero and could fly off of the front porch. Or maybe you like to pretend to be on an adventure and hike through the woods in your backyard. For me, it was being a queen (among other things). That’s right, I liked to pretend I was royalty. I remember at one point in my childhood literally thinking that I might be the princess from “The Princess and the Pea,” only to later find out that the back pain I sometimes woke up to was from scoliosis. True story.

In all seriousness, my parents have a picture of a sign that I proudly hung on the outside of the house I grew up in that read, “Jenna is the Queen of the Swan House.” I guess I wanted to make sure that everyone knew who they were dealing with when they stepped inside the doors! The Swan House refers to the nickname given to that house because of the tiny swans adorning each shutter. Random, I know, but the family who previously lived in the house had the last name Swan, so I guess it was fitting.

Obviously this queen preferred to wear a hot pink scrunchie on the very top of her head instead of a tiara. ;-)
