Results

I spent most of the day attempting to distract myself with work so that I wouldn’t think about what was to come. At 3:40 pm we would be at the doctor’s office, waiting to hear the results of James’ pathology report. I had a good feeling about it, but was still nervous nevertheless.

When the doctor came in the room it was almost as if he sensed the urgency to tell us the news right away. “The pathology results came back normal– you don’t have cancer.” What?!? Are you serious?? A huge weight was immediately lifted. I felt my lungs open up and I could finally breathe normally. Ok, I might be exaggerating a little bit, but you get the picture! We were very excited to say the least. :-)

Over the past week we have been flooded with cards, emails, texts, visits, and notes on Facebook filled with support, encouragement, and prayer. We are so thankful for everyone who has been thinking of us and praying for good results for James. We knew that the Lord was in control this entire time and were prepared to deal with either outcome. I really do believe that there is power in prayer though, so THANK YOU!!

The doctor said that despite the fact that the mass was benign, it was good that he removed it because it most likely would have continued growing larger (and it was already a pretty good size). James still doesn’t have enough strength in his throat to do too much singing yet (he is a worship minister, so that is pretty important), but the doctor was confident that that will come back soon with healing time. We celebrated the outcome by stopping by the library on the way home because, well, we are such party animals. ;-)

Hope that everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!

Such good news!!! Thank God! And going to the library to celebrate is totally a legitimate party – don’t deny it. ;)
