These are a Few of My Favorite Things… in March

1) Pinterest

I can officially admit that I’ve been bitten by the Pinterest bug. I signed up for it when it first came out, but I didn’t really do much with it until the past couple of weeks, and now I’m hooked! It’s such a great place to create inspiration boards for your home, your wardrobe, your hair, recipes, and more. One thing I really enjoy about it is the ability to put together boards for my wedding clients for things like bridal party attire, flowers, reception ideas, etc. It’s so fun!

While I don’t know how long it will be around (there’s been talking about it’s violation of copyright laws) I plan to use it for as long as I can! As a photographer, I personally think it’s great because if someone pins your work (no matter what kind of business you’re in), it’s more exposure for you, as each photo links back to it’s original source. So whether you’re an artist, chef, jewelry or clothing designer, blogger, etc., Pinterest does some free marketing for you! The one thing I try to make sure to do is to credit the source in the description if I am the original pinner. :-)

2) Philadelphia Indulgence Cream Cheese Spread

Um, can you say YUM?!? This product is new(ish) and I decided to give it a try this past week when it was on sale and I had a coupon. It’s basically like dessert in a tub! It’s soooo good. The package suggests eating it on cookies, pretzels, and fruit. I’ve been eating it with strawberries most frequently (since they are in abundance in the stores right now) and it’s become a favorite snack. There are several flavors, although White Chocolate is the only one I’ve tried so far. Guess I’ll have to go back and get the other flavors now!

3) Undercover Boss

The premise of the show is each week a CEO of a different company goes undercover in his/her own company to see what the work environment is like and what the employees are saying. I love shows like this and this one has not only satisfied my taste for going undercover, it has also made me cry almost EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. No lie. It usually happens at the end when the boss reveals himself/herself to the employees they were working with, and they generally bless each employee featured on the show with some sort of monetary gift. I LOVE that. Kind of reminds me of Secret Millionaire and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

This past episode as I was wiping my tears with my hair James was like, Why do we watch shows like this?!? Ah, because I’m a girl and that’s what we do!! ;-)

4) My new cup

When these plastic-but-looks-like-a-to-go-cups first came out I thought, What is the point of those?? I mean, if I wanted to drink out of a to-go cup, I would just get one from a restaurant. Well, I was recently given a couple of these, and now they’ve replaced my usual water bottles! I don’t know why, but I love this cup. Maybe it’s because I don’t even have to screw off a lid or open a top to take a drink. I’ve banned myself from drinking out of regular glasses throughout the work day, as that has in the past led to me spilling water on my computer or walking into the room to find a cat drinking out of my glass. These “to-go” cups are the perfect solution!

5) Warm weather, warm weather, warm weather!

Can you tell I like warm weather? Yes, I see that there may be some rain this week, but temps in the high 60’s and 70’s totally make up for that. Let’s just say when it’s cold, my body goes into hibernation. When it’s warm, I feel like a butterfly that’s been released from it’s cocoon. Ok, I realize that sounds kind of weird, but you get my drift. I LOVE WARM WEATHER. Granted, we’ve had a mild winter, but finally being into Spring temperatures is so exciting to me! I love this time of year… windows open, sitting outside, grilling out, walking in the park… Ahhhhh.
