I loved getting to know Emily and Michael during their engagement session in downtown Savannah! These two are so sweet and just perfect for one another!

Engagement sessions are the PERFECT time for me to get to know my clients and vice versa before their wedding day. It gives us a chance to not only chat, but also helps my clients to get comfortable in front of the camera. It’s not every day that you are posing and having your photo taken!

I know from personal experience that it can be intimidating, but believe me, it’s not hard at all!! My clients almost always tell me after a session how easy and fun it was– they are often surprised at how laid-back and relaxed they felt throughout the shooting time!

Engagement sessions are also a great time for me to figure out what posing and directions work best for each couple, because everyone is a little bit different! Some couples are naturally more lovey-dovey, and some are not (which is totally ok). What works well for one couple may not work the best for another! Also, if there is a substantial height difference between the two, that can greatly affect what sort of posing I choose to do.

Lastly, engagement sessions are a great excuse for the girls to get a trial done with hair and make-up! Even if you don’t want to get your hair done as you would on your big day, just doing a make-up trial before your session can give you an extra boost of confidence! It will help you know exactly what to tell your make-up artist on the wedding day, PLUS with your make-up already done, it’s the perfect time to go out for a date night after your engagement session. It’s a win win!
