Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to Jared Platt’s Lightroom Workshop. Jared spoke at the Indy PUG meeting on Wednesday night, and when I saw how much I learned in that hour and a half, I decided to come back the next day for his 8 hour workshop!

Adobe Lightroom is the main program that I use for all of my photo editing (I also use PhotoShop when needed), and while I thought I knew a lot about it, I realized that there was SO much more to know after attending the workshop. As in, I totally didn’t know anything about it before! Just kidding… kind of. ;-) Jared is basically a Lightroom guru and I’m pretty sure he knows that program like the back of his hand. He has gotten so fast with his post-wedding process that he can finish editing an entire wedding in about 4.5 hours!

Jared taught us his super quick selection process in Lightroom, how to make the most out of the develop module, how you should export and store everything, and tons of keyboard shortcuts. He also went through his whole hard drive system and explained in full detail how he backs everything up.

By the time the class was over I felt like my brain was on information overload! It was great though. :-) I took a ton of notes throughout the day and practiced everything he was teaching on my laptop as we went. I can’t wait to implement the tools and tricks I learned for my next wedding!
